Gowerton entertained Bryngwyn at Gowerton RFC and following their victory at Llangatwg confidence within the squad was high and they were on the front foot immediately with centre Charlie Williams  running incisively and flanker Rhys Jones excellent in the loose.

Newcombe brace gives year 7 the edge.

The hosts raced to a 4 try lead by half time with centres Matthew Newcombe (2) and Ben Petherbridge and No.8 Tim Perkins all crossing. Captain and fly half Joel Matuschke kicked one conversion.
The second half was a different story and the visitors controlled long periods of play with hooker Natasha Dow strong in the forward exchanges and full back Elliot Jenkins an elusive counter attacker. The game was back in the balance when scrum half Steffan Lee and centre Tom Williams scored tries for the visitors but with Gowerton’s Oliver Bruce running powerfully it was they who had the final word and clinched victory when prop Connor Williams plunged over from short range.

The second half was much more closely contested with Bryngwyn’s No.8 Elliot Jenkins, fly half Daniel Howe and prop Mitchell Frater all playing well and in fact the visitors outscored the hosts by three tries to two. For Bryngwyn, No.8 Jenkins, flanker Dylan Stewart and scrum half Jarek Newcombe all scored tries, two of which were converted by fly half Howe. But Gowerton replied with a try for centre James Northey and another for lock Thomas that completed his personal hat-trick.
