Mr M Frew

Chair of Governors

What is the Governing Body?

Every school has a Governing Body which works with the Head and the school, collectively and through committees, guiding the strategic direction of the school. The Governing Body works for example to:

  • allocate the school’s budget
  • develop the school’s policies
  • appoint and dismiss staff
  • monitor academic standards
  • monitor school discipline
  • handle complaints
  • plan building repair and maintenance

Representatives of the governing body attend all the school public events, and the governing body reports to parents through annual meetings and briefing sessions. back to top
