RICHARD PARKS VISITS GOWERTON

Richard Parks, the extreme environment athlete and Antarctic record holder visited the school this morning and years 12 and 13 had a fantastic opportunity to listen to his experiences, from Everest to the North Pole. His challenges were fascinating, but Richard also passed on the life skills that have led to his success – perseverance, hard work, team work and ambition –  which he feels can apply to anyone. The students then had the opportunity to further question him on topics ranging from “How do you go to the toilet in the Antarctic?” to “Which is more important physical or mental preparedness?” He has also promised a return visit next year to discuss his next challenge.
