Mixed fortunes for years 7 and 8.

Year 7 continue promising start to the season.
From the kick off Gowerton were on the front foot immediately and took the lead in the 6th minute when vice captain Dexter Ryde plunged over from short range. Captain Sam Cambriani added the conversion.

Gowerton increased their lead in the 12thminute when the visitors won a ruck close to the touchline. The possession allowed Jakob Irland to cross for a try that captain Cambriani again converted.
In the 18th minute Cambriani got into the tryscoring act himself when he crossed for his team’s third try. He added the conversion that gave Gowerton  a comfortable 21 point advantage at the break.

At half time, coach Mr. Waters made a number of changes and these disrupted the team’s rhythm slightly and it was the hosts who grabbed the next score to cut the deficit. However, it was Gowerton who had the final say when in the 40th minute Cambriani scored his second try. His conversion attempt hit the post, but he ended with a personal haul of 16 points and at the final whistle, Gowerton were comfortable victors.

Will Griffiths waits to try to secure line out possession.
Year 8 found things much tougher in the year 8 contest. Will Griffiths, Josh O’Connor, Tom Ham and Callum Batcup all did well, but Gowerton found it tough against the hosts powerful forwards and their only reward was a try for wing Nicholas Williams.
