Christmas buffet:

Thanks to all who provided items for the staff Christmas buffet. It was a fantastic event and your contributions were much appreciated by the staff.

I commented to the staff after the meal that I felt the quality and quantity of items provided, was an indication of the high esteem in which the staff are held by the parental group. I’m sure you concur.

We achieved our target profit and £249.94 has been credited to the Central Tour Fund.

My thanks to Miss Smitham and Miss Rushworth who took on the majority of the responsibility for co-ordinating things. Thanks also to Mr Lewis, Mr Ayre, Mr Watts and Miss Williams who were also heavily involved.

We should be able to raise funds similarly next Christmas.

We tried to keep a record of those who made contributions and I have added them to the ‘record of involvement in activities’ which is attached. Please let me know if you feel I have made a mistake and I will amend it.

The next event is the;

Dinner with guest speaker:

I have booked the conservative Club in Gowerton on Saturday 21st February.

Former Wales captain and TV pundit Gwyn Jones has confirmed that he will be able to speak. Dai Vaughan will act as MC. Gower Timber are again generously going to sponsor the event.

Tickets are priced at £25, but the cost of the meal is £10. The balance of £15 for each ticket sold is credited to individual accounts.

The Central tour fund will receive money raised by an auction/raffle.

If you are unable to attend you can receive credit on the ‘record of involvement’ by providing an item for the auction.

The audience is limited to 120 and tickets will be sold on a first come/first served basis.

3. 100 Club:

The 1st draw took place in school in December 2014. The prize winners were:

The second draw will take place at the Gwyn Jones dinner in February.

A reminder that I have booked the school’s Main Hall for our next parents’ meeting on Thursday 5th February.

5. Golden try competition:

The second Golden Try competition will take place on the date of the Wales v England Six Nations game on Friday February 6th. I’ve attached an entry form.

The first competition organised for the Wales v South Africa Autumn International was very successful with 446 entries and 75p was credited to individual accounts for each entry sold meaning individuals were credited with a total of £333.50. The remaining £12.50 went into the central tour fund.
