 Gowerton defeat touring English school.

 Gowerton : 17 Wyedean School (Gloucs): 14.

 Quick try wins it for Gowerton.

      Gowerton hosted Wyedean School from Sedbury in Gloucestershire and came out on top 17-14.

Both teams compete for possession at a ruck.

 The hosts enjoyed the early pressure with centre Ollie Quick running strongly and half backs Ryan Jones and Aled Simons controlling territory well. They took the lead in the 8th minute when No.8 Leon Bevan picked up from the base of a scrum 10 metres and drove over for a try that opened the scoring.

Lewis Grove chases to make a tackle.

 The visitors were in front four minutes later when flanker Will Morgan demonstrated an excellent turn of pace to sprint clear from halfway for a try that wing Mark Shanley converted.

Three minutes before half time Gowerton wing Joe Legg burst clear and was denied a try by an excellent cover tackle by the visitors. At the resulting lineout, lock Lewis Grove won possession and flanker Jack Soproniuk burst clear to score.

The lead was short lived, however, as a dropped pass in midfield was seized upon by wing Sam Burgess who sprinted clear for a try that Shanley again converted and at the break the visitors led 14-10.

Gowerton were back in front ten minutes into the second half when lock Ethan Guy drove deep into the Wyedean 22 and offloaded to centre Quick who powered over. Centre Max Treharne added the extras.

 Both sides searched for another score, but defences were on top and at full time Gowerton retained their narrow lead.
