Charity News

Our first chosen charity this year is Halcyon Training Foundation. The Halcyon Training Foundation aims to provide accredited training to community groups, families and carers who deal with people presenting challenging and difficult behavior, including Autism.

Mr John Bennett and Mr Carl Burridge, parents of pupils at Gowerton School, will be part of a team climbing Kilimanjaro over February half term.

Our STF unit held a cake stall on Tuesday, along with our sixth form students holding a competition – ‘name the teddy’ (giant bear prize) and ‘spot the ball’ (Osprey’s signed rugby ball).

Staff from the school raised money by holding a fundraising evening at a local Indian restaurant, followed by a show at the Grand Theatre, Swansea.

An amazing total of £340 was raised, we wish both parents well in their climb.

The cheque was presented to Mr Bennett and Mr Burridge by Jordan Lipscombe and Gwilym Morris, Sixth Form pupils of our Specialist Teaching Facility and Ms. A. Jenkins, Sixth Form ASD Support.
