Pontarddulais yr 9: 17 Gowerton year 9: 5
Man of the match show from Leon Bevan not enough to earn a win.
In a very competitive year 9 game it was the hosts who came out on top. It was the power and pace of the hosts’ backline that tipped the game in their favour. Centre Cain Collins carried strongly and pacey wing Jake Jones was a constant threat.
Gowerton had the advantage of the breeze in the first half and with locks Connor Williams and Reid Davies working tirelessly and flanker and man of the match Leon Bevan dominating the tackle area they were able to supply captain and scrum half Iwan Jones with a regular supply of possession that enabled him to nurse his team forward. The hosts’ defence with No.8 Morgan Warburton to the fore was unflinching and at the break the game was scoreless.
After half time, the hosts were on the front foot immediately and clinched victory with three tries in 15 second half minutes. First a strong run by wing Jones saw him tackled just short, but flanker Cameron Elias was on hand to pick up and drive over for a try that opened the scoring. Full back Tomos Smith then doubled the advantage when he sprinted to score in the corner. Fly half Lewis Gibbs added a third try that full back Smith converted.
Gowerton showed great resolve and grabbed the final score when Lock Mabon Kaniewski grounded the ball after a powerful surge by the pack.

No. 8 Teigue Williams leads the way with 11 point haul.
Gowerton emerged as victors in the year 7 game. In the first half they held the advantage at forward with props Peter Legg-Davies and Alex Davies both carrying strongly and back row forwards Sam Terry and man of the match Teigue Williams both impressive in the contact area. Half backs Matthew Davies and Gavin Williams released their outside backs effectively and both centre Sam Cartwright and full back Alister Morgan were a constant threat.

The visitors crossed for three unanswered tries before the break. In the 5th minute, strong running lock Darragh Cahill powered over, centre Cartwright added the extras. Four minutes later, livewire flanker Ryan Stagg crossed after good work by scrum half Matthew Davies.
On the stroke of half time, wing Gino Davies was held up just short of the line, but No.8 Teigue Williams peeled away from the maul to score. Williams converted both scores and the visitors held a twenty one point advantage at the break.
The second half saw the hosts reasserting themselves and with lock Jamie Price carrying well and prop Kian Phillips competing strongly in the rucks they dominated territory. Scrum half Josh Hodge’s crisp service allowed fly half Corey Palmer the opportunity to show his excellent footwork. Pontarddulais deservedly reduced the deficit when fly half Rhys Piper reacted quickest to a spilled ball on half way. He hacked the ball forward and won the race to touch down.

However, the hosts had the final word when centre Ethan Lee showed an impressive turn of pace to sprint clear from half way. Man of the match Williams converted to give him a personal haul of 11 points.
