Gowerton entertained Morriston in the first round of the Swansea schools’ cup. The game was a replay after it had been halted with Gowerton leading 15-12 when Morriston’s Billy Rees was injured and with concerns about the severity of the injury, no chances were taken and the decision was taken to abandon the game and replay the following week.

The news about full back Rees was very good and he was in fact fit to take his place in the visitors’ team.

The first half was tightly contested and neither team could establish dominance. A try from wing Lewis Hyatt gave Gowerton the lead, but the visitors were well served by flanker Brandon Heale and full back Rees and they replied with a try from centre Jack Smith that was converted by fly half Dylan Evans.
Centre Lloyd Dudley-Jones dives in to score.
Gowerton’s centre Sam Knight crossed for a try that meant that they led 10-7 at the break.
In the second half, Gowerton’s forwards began to take control up front and they added three further tries by centres Knight, Said Mohamed and flanker Iwan Brown, that enabled them to progress to the quarter final where they will host Cefn Hengoed.
