UPDATE FOR PARENTS – COVID-19 – 18th MARCH 2020
In line with the advice from Welsh Government (click here), Gowerton School will be closing from 3pm Friday. All planned events have been postponed or cancelled. All GCSE , A level and external examinations have been cancelled, see WJEC website. Until then, pupils and staff are only to attend if they are well. As in previous information shared, if pupils/staff or any members of their close family show any symptoms of Covid-19 (as listed on the Public Health Wales) they should remain home and self-isolate.
We have been asked by our Local Authority to ask parents to complete a questionnaire. This should be completed by parents employed as Frontline workers, Public Service workers or Care workers who require emergency childcare. Click here for questionnaire (all information entered will remain confidential). PLEASE COMPLETE BY 9am THURSDAY.
As a school we have prepared pupils to enable them to work from home. This work can be accessed in the first instance via Microsoft Teams/Google classroom where work will be set weekly by staff. If however, this should fail then pupils can access remote learning via the school website. For pupils that cannot access the internet at home, paper copies of work have been delivered.
