Dyffryn: 58 Year 8: 26

Year 8 down to earth with a bump.

Dyffryn year 8: 58   Gowerton year 8: 26.
Gowerton’s year 8 rugby team travelled to Dyffryn in Port Talbot grateful for the respite from the rain having had their previous four fixtures cancelled due to the inclement weather. However, their hosts were not quite as accommodating and produced an excellent display of running and handling that saw them cross for 10 tries. Gowerton played their part in an entertaining game and scored four tries of their own.
The star of the show was hosts’ full back Patrick Fineral whose pace and well balanced running allowed him to score 4 first half tries all from inside his own half. He was closely followed by centre Corey Taylor whose elusive running saw him score a hat-trick of tries. Dyffryn’s other tries came from fly half Jack Garrett and lock Rhys Thomas. Centre Joe Humphreys kicked 4 conversions and the hosts were also well served by Jay Roberts and Jae Key.
The visitors enjoyed an advantage in the forward exchanges where Prop Ben Grunhut and locks Garin Thomas and Johnnie Underhillall showed up well and they were rewarded with tries from No.8 Lewis Pennington (2) and props Grunhut and Bradley Davies-Steele. Scrum half Iwan Jones kicked 3 conversions.
