On 13th November, those students in Year 13 who are applying for university had “mock” interviews. Six representatives from a variety of universities gave our students a taste of what an interview for a university course could be like. All of our students were given detailed feedback. This was a very valuable experience for
them. The comments of the interviewers were very pleasing – they were very impressed overall and particularly with the variety and range of extra activities our Sixth Form students undertake, such as voluntary work, summer schools, placements etc.
This term, some of our Year 12 students, along with students from other post-16 educational establishments, have been taking part in the local HE+ programme. This is a series of lectures and workshops organised by Cambridge University to extend knowledge beyond the A level syllabus.
The Sixth Form Charity Committee organised many fundraising activities for Children In Need this year. Everyone enjoyed the day – in particular, the ingenuity and variety of the fancy dress costumes worn by the students themselves was amazing. A grand total of £1,063 was raised.
