Dear Parents/Carers,
This academic school year has been challenging, but GCSE results day is almost upon us and I hope that your child will be pleased with the results that they receive.
By now, I am sure that many Year 11’s have made a decision about what they intend to do from September. For those going to college, starting apprenticeships or entering employment, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
For those students wishing to return to Gowerton 6th Form, we look forward to seeing you in September. Below are some important pieces of information with regards to returning to Gowerton 6th Form:
Enrolment
Year 12 enrolment will take place on Friday 3rd September in the Drama Studio. Students with surnames A – M will enrol between 9.00am – 11.00am. Students with surnames N – Z will enrol between 12.00pm – 2.00pm.
Subject choices
The number of choices students will be able to make will depend on their GCSE results.
Most students will make three choices from the list below, averaging between A and B with their GCSEs. This is the usual number to choose given the harder nature of the courses in Sixth Form.
Those with average grades of A or better will be able to choose 4 A-levels if they wish.
Those averaging below a B are advised to choose two subjects which they have done particularly well in.
In general, we would expect all students returning to Sixth Form have a grade C in English (Lang or Lit) and Maths (Maths or Numeracy).
Choices can be made from the following option lines. Students can’t choose more than one subject from any column.

Students also do the Skills Challenge Certificate, which also counts as an A-level qualification.
Uniform
A black Gowerton School Sixth/Chweched polo shirt is compulsory.
A Black or Baby Pink Gowerton School Sixth/Chweched hoodie is optional. Please note that the only other hoodies permitted are ones that have a Gowerton School badge on e.g. a Leavers hoodie. No other hoodies will be allowed. 6th Form polos and hoodies can be purchased online from Bergoni. https://www.bergoni.co.uk/collections/gowerton
Trousers/Jeans (not ripped)/appropriate leggings/knee length skirt/knee length shorts will be fine, as will any suitable footwear.
