The busy month of December approaches!
Here are some of the events that the Music department will be involved in. School uniform will be worn in all but the Gowerton/Olchfa concert:
Gowerton Community Carol Service at St John’s Church, Gowerton
Tuesday 8th December 5.30pm – 6.30pm
A clarinet ensemble will be performing as part of the community service and will include pupils from Gowerton Primary School and Ysgol Gyfun Gwyr.
Joint Gowerton / Olchfa Rehearsal and Concert
Wednesday 9th December at St Mary’s Church, Swansea 6.30pm – 8pm
This is the second time we have joined the strings, brass, woodwind and percussion players from Olchfa and Gowerton.
Pupils should have already had a consent form. Pupils will be taken by bus to St Mary’s by 2pm but will need to be collected by parents after the concert. Tickets for the concert are available at the door at £3. For the concert, pupils will need to wear black top/trousers/skirts. Please could pupils bring a packed lunch for the break between rehearsal and concert.
Gowerton School Christmas Carol Service at Tabernacle Church, Penclawdd.
Wednesday 16th December 6pm – 7.30pm
Entry is free but a collection will be made during the service.
This year we will be holding our annual Carol Service at Tabernacle Church, Penclawdd.
Members of the brass band, choir, string ensemble and windband will be performing.
Pupils will be rehearsing during the day and the consent form for other rehearsals will be sufficient.
Christmas Carols at Asda, Gorseinon
Friday 18th December 11am – 12.30pm
Brass and windband players will be travelling by bus to Asda, Gorseinon .
They will be performing carols and making a collection in the foyer of Asda.
Please come and support us if you can.
We hope that you will be able to attend at least one of these events.
Thank you for your continued support of the Music Department. This has been a particularly successful year with the high standard achieved in the Brangwyn Concert and the brass band visit to Belgium to name but two of the many events.
