Parel Vallei hockey: 6 Gowerton hockey: 2
The weather wasn’t looking promising and the boys games were cancelled but fortunately the sun came out for the girls game and they were able to play. They knew they were up against it due to some great play early on from Parel Vallei. PV gathered an early lead and despite great spirit from the Gowerton team, continued to punish them and score several goals on the bounce. The half ended 5-0!
The Gowerton girls knew what they had to do to turn the game around and used half time to regroup and make some changes and they came out like a new team! Eve Andrews and Niamh Bradley playing really well and after some great link up play, the ball ended up in the back of the goal off Niamh’s stick and faith was restored!
Parel Vallei came back to score another but a great individual goal from Matthew Davies after an amazing run brought the score to 6-2.
The game ended this way and the girls hope to continue the second half form and get a win down under!
