Hockey – St Monica’s: 3 Gowerton: 1
We thoroughly enjoyed our game against st Monica’s hockey team today. Despite our skilful side the powerful st Monica’s scored 3 goals in the first half of the match. After we got used to their type of play they were unable to score a 4th goal in the second half. We dominated the second half of the game once again, showing impressive passages of play and strong defensive skill. A superb reverse sweep from seren Howells saw the ball in the back of the net at the end of the second half. Finally something to show for our hard work out on the pitch. A very narrowly missed deflection by Lucy Steadman kept us motivated til the very end but we were unfortunate to not secure a second goal. The end result was 3–1 to st Monica’s. the girls all gave 100% effort and we are very proud.
