On Friday 20th March 2015, at between 8:25am – 10:30am a partial eclipse of the sun will impact over Swansea and Western Bay. These are quite rare, and this one will be a major event. That morning, the Moon will pass right in front of the Sun, blotting out up to 90% of its disc. The Sun will look like a crescent instead of a disc. Looking directly at the sun can result in serious eye damage or blindness. It is dangerous to look at the sun at any time and children, particularly, may be more tempted to sneak a peek during the eclipse.
Please see the attached guidance with regards to this event.
