12 February 2021
Dear Parents/Carers,
As we approach the end of this half term, we would like to take the opportunity to extend our thanks to parents and pupils for your support and hard work since January. We hope you will have the chance to rest over half term.
Since the start of term there have been on average 650 live lessons per week and we would like to thank all our staff for their hard work in preparing and delivering these as part of our Blended Learning approach.
The Welsh Government have yet to announce when secondary school pupils will return to school but rest assured, we will share this information with you as soon as we have it via our social media platforms.
In the meantime, here is some further information that you may find useful:
Exam Classes (Year 10, 11, 12 & 13)
We are still awaiting detailed information, although as previously announced there will not be formal external exams this year. Instead, these will be replaced by Centre Determined Grades. These will be based on all available evidence that we hold for your child.
Year 9
Most pupils have submitted their option choices. We are confident that most choices will be catered for and we will be in contact with pupils in due course.
Years 7 & 8
Thank you to Year 7 and 8 pupils for their increased engagement in online lessons. It is really pleasing to see so many pupils trying their best.
All pupils have been sent a questionnaire on Pastoral Matters via email from their Heads of Year, please remind them to complete this. We have also put together a questionnaire for parents- ACCESS PARENT QUESTIONNAIRE HERE. We would be grateful if you could complete this for EACH OF YOUR CHILDREN before Monday 22nd February. The information gathered will help us amend and adapt Blended Learning for the next half term.
Yours faithfully,
Mr N Jones
