Gowerton 8-0 Dylan Thomas
In their first fixture for 18 months Gowerton Year 10s got off to a flying start with Tyler Davies getting on the end of a through ball to make it 1-0 inside 10 minutes. Gowerton were comfortable on the ball and dominated much of first half with a second goal coming through Tino Amieni with a cool finish. Tyler Davies was an enormous threat playing in his new role on the wing, scoring his 2nd with blistering pace on the counterattack and then completing his first half hattrick just before half time making the score 4-0.
There was no let up for the visitors in the 2nd half either, after Cameron Charlesworth nudged home from a corner to make it 5-0. The pick of the game’s goals was Gowerton’s sixth, Jack Lewis Colwill having picked up the ball from a short goal kick in his own box, ran the length of the field and riffled his shot from the 20 yards into the top corner. Lewis Hopkins got himself on the score sheet late on with an excellent run into the box before firing home, only to double his tally moments later directly from a corner.
In a game full of notable performances; clean sheets for Iwan Pearce Morgan, Sonny Desmond, Cameron Charlesworth and Ieuan Phillips; a first hattrick for Tyler Davies; a brace for Lewis Hopkins; the Man of the Match could go to no one else but Jack Lewis Colwill for his domination in midfield and what will no doubt be, the goal of the season.
Gowerton take on Pontardullais next, in the Welsh Cup first round.
