We will be leaving from Gowerton School on the morning of Friday 22nd of September at approximately 10:00 am. We will be travelling with South Wales Transport (01792 799575). Pupils may come to school in normal clothes ready for the trip and a place will be arranged for children to leave their luggage until departure. They can then attend first lesson as normal. We will meet in the main hall at 9:30 in order to make sure we are all ready to be on the bus at 10:00am. We will be travelling over lunch time – therefore pupils should bring a packed lunch from home to eat on the bus or the school can provide a packed lunch for those in receipt of free meals upon request. We will be stopping along the way so there will be an opportunity to buy a drink or a snack then also.
Much of our time at Glan-Llyn will be spent outdoors taking part in outdoor pursuits, often involving watersports therefore a variety of clothing that can be layered and dried easily would be ideal. A more comprehensive list is on the information sheet attached. A waterproof coat or jacket will be beneficial. Pupils shouldn’t bring new, expensive items of clothing or trainers as they are likely to get dirty or wet.
Pupils need to bring a sleeping bag and a pillowcase. These should be wrapped in a waterproof bag or placed in the case/holdall. ALL SLEEPING BAGS AND HOLDALLS SHOULD BE CLEARLY LABELLED WITH PUPILS NAME AND SCHOOL.
If any pupils require any medication during the trip this will be collected in and kept safe by the teachers. Please place any medication in a bag clearly labelled with your child’s name.
Very little money is required for the week. There is a small shop that sells sweets, crisps, drinks and small souvenirs. However pupils are discouraged from taking excessive amounts of money in case it gets lost. Phones, I-pods, tablets and game consoles are discouraged. There will be no WIFI available to the pupils. These items, if taken will be the pupils responsibility, and taken at their own risk.

ARRIVING HOME -We will be leaving Glan-Llyn around 1:00pm on Sunday 24th and should be arriving back at the Park Road entrance of Gowerton School around 4:30 pm at the earliest. Pupils will need a lift home. Please could parents ensure someone is waiting to pick up their child promptly on the Sunday.
