Year 8 squad members who got off to a great start to the season with victory at Bryntawe.

Gowerton year 8 got off to an impressive winning start when they travelled to play Bryntawe.
The team produced a strong team performance both in attack and defence. Will Griffiths, Callum Batcup, debutant Euan Brown and Lloyd Dudley-Jones all carried well and Kieran Charles showed some good running lines.
Lewis Hyatt was ‘gunning’ for Bryntawe.
Gowerton scored eight tries. Back row forwards Euan Brown, who was making his school debut grabbed a hat-trick and Lloyd Dudley-Jones grabbed a brace. Both were involved in some excellent interplay with the backs that gave them the opportunities to cross for their tries.
Rhys Brown scored after some silky running from Jordan Penhalagon and Tom Ham allowed him to cross beneath the posts.

Josh O’Connor linked well with Kieran Charles to put Nicholas Williams into space and he showed good skills to wrong foot the full back and score in the corner. Finally, Callum Batcup demonstrated both his strength and pace to sprint in from 30 metres.
Captain Tom Ham kicked five conversions which enabled Gowerton to score 50 points.
Next week the squad take part in the Swansea Schools’ festival at Olchfa on Wednesday.
