43 Gowerton pupils attended the annual Afan Nedd Tawe Schools athletics competition last week where they were faced with 22 other schools from around the area competing in a variety of events. It was a great day and was wonderful to see so many students participating enthusiastically in every event. Many athletes got through to finals with some impressive times and distances. Despite not winning overall there was some fantastic Individual success, including Aron Williams (Year 7) winning the Shot Putt with a throw of over 10m, Ethan Lee (Year 8) coming 4th in the 800m & 1st in the High Jump, Casey Williams (Year 8) coming 5th in the 100m, Amy Tomkins (Year 9) coming 2nd in the discus, Niamh Bradley (Year 7) coming 8th in the Junior girls hurdles, Adam Williams (Year 8) coming 6th in the 1500 (despite the heat!)
