What superb celebrations were held at Gowerton School for Shw Mae Day!
The sun shone as pupils returned from their charity walk and took part in our Welsh themed frame. These celebrations were the culmination of a week of activities in encouraging the use of everyday Welsh. Pupils had thoroughly enjoyed collecting stickers for speaking Welsh and those with over 20 stickers qualified for ‘dragon status’ and proudly wore their badges.
In the canteen pupils ordered their food in Welsh and a particular favourite today was Welsh cakes!
Everyone eagerly anticipated the arrival of the Shw Mae video on the website and by lunchtime the video was being watched all around school. Pupils from every year group from year 7 to 6th form had participated in creating this mixture of singing, speaking Welsh, saying Shw Mae and having fun!
Oedd pawb wedi joio!
Photos of the day can be found in the gallery section of our website and if you haven’t already seen our special Shw Mae day video it is included below.
